       SC.K2.CS-PC.1.2, a relevant Florida standard involving technology, teaches elementary school children how to be responsible digital citizens. It strongly emphasizes protecting personal data, controlling internet time, reporting cyberbullying, and identifying improper content. In the digital age, this standard equips students with the critical skills to navigate the internet securely and morally. Based on my current skill set, I feel fairly qualified to apply this guideline; however, I could benefit from additional training in handling inappropriate content and cyberbullying with first-graders.      The Educator Toolkit on CPALMS provides a range of tools for various grade levels and subjects. Understanding copyright and fair use is crucial for educators, particularly when designing educational resources and assisting students in producing original work. While fair use permits the restricted use of copyrighted materials for purposes like teaching, criticism, or research, copyright protects the original creators of content. Educators must find a balance between upholding the rights of creators and giving students access to materials that advance their education. I would make sure that any copyrighted material I used while creating educational materials was either properly licensed or fell under fair use. Teaching students how to properly credit sources, use licensed content, and comprehend fair use guidelines is essential for their projects.       In my experience using Microsoft Word as a student through K-12 and at FSU, I still prefer Microsoft Word as my go-to processing software. I prefer Microsoft Word over Google Docs or Pages because it is widely accepted. The files I create in Word are often compatible with other systems and organizations, making sharing easier. I also like how Word offers advanced tools for creating tables, charts, and layouts. Since I have been using Microsoft Word for years, it is the easiest software for me to use because I am so familiar with the software.     The ISTE Standards for Educators aims to give teachers and students a roadmap for becoming empowered learners. The standards provided will push you to strengthen your practice, encourage peer collaboration, and help you prepare students to take charge of their own education.      In studying educational technology, I hope to learn a deeper understanding of how digital tools and platforms can enhance teaching and learning experiences. Many educators have turned to Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) to grow as educators. Some claim PLNs to be beneficial while most don't know how they are learning from them and can affect their teaching along with students learning. I am interested in learning how innovative technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and adaptative learning systems can be merged into educational settings to support learning needs and help improve student engagement. I hope to learn the practice of approaches, strategies, and techniques that can help increase the effectiveness and efficiency of instruction.
